That's about all I have to say about that.

Very cool capture Tony. No critique. It's enough that you even caught a shot like this. :o) #8663133

You got that one right, Tony! I don't think the plane or depth of focus could be any better. You caught it at just the right time so there is even a sense of action. Was this a tripod shot? Did you have it set up? Or was it hand held?

What lens did you have? What is its magnification ratio? #8664113

Thanks all..I found this guy under a leaf. I took some of him but he was partially obscured by it, so I moved it and luckily he was too wet to fly so I was free to shoot at will.

Stephen, I got this with my Sigma 105mm macro and an extension tube. Handheld in full mid-morning sun with my ringlight adapter. The bright sun allowed for fast shutter speed and the flash filled in the shadow. I also splurged recently and upgraded to a full frame body. Its incredible how much I can crop and still retain the detail and resolution. This is a closer crop of the same shot but flipped.

I was having a lunchtime snack when I opened this shot, Tony. Now I wish I hadn't. The home-made, fetta-stuffed, olive, dripping in olive oil, that I had just popped into my mouth needed a brief regurgitation while I checked on what I was eating.

Full-frame camera body, 105 macro, ringlight, extension tube. Strewth Tony my truck is worth less than your photography stuff!
Great work my friend. #8667378

Thank you Ellen and Peter, sorry about your lunch Peter.

I used to leave my door unlocked when I left the during the day when I left my house because there was nothing worth stealing, but now I sure do lock it!

I think the sum of all my equipment now exceeds the kelly blue book for my car as well. Oh well, you only live once and I have more fun taking pictures and sharing them with you phine pholks than I do driving around anyway :-) #8667399
