Description

This elaborate Stephen F. Jones ranch house can be found in the Flint Hills of Kansas. This native limestone mansion was built in 1881 and cost approx. $25,000 to build. Much history and owners accompanies this 10,000+ acre ranch. Behind this ranch house resides a 3 story barn, built of limestone as well. Stephen Jones and his family only lived in this house for five years, then sold the ranch and moved to Kansas City. In 1997, the Spring Hill Ranch was designated as a National Historic Landmark and is now a part of the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve.
