Description

This is The Homecoming of Australian girl, Jessica Watson in Sydney Harbour after her solo sailing trip around the world. What a wonderful achievement for a 16 year old & someone for other teenagers to look up to. Welcome home Jessica. I took this off the TV!! Lens aperture F/3.2, shutter speed 1/40sec, focal length 26mm, ISO 50.

Chris, it most certainly was an outstanding achievement for one so young...so BIG CONGRATULATIONS, Jessica!! To sail around the world (in just under 7 months) single-handed, non-stop and unassisted (and in the process to have had her boat completely 'knocked down' four times!) at the age of 16 is truly amazing!! :o)

It's quite obvious though, when one hears her speak, that she has a VERY mature head on her shoulders for one of such tender years!! Before she had even completed her odyssey she had become an inspiration to us all - both young and old(-er!)!! ;o) On her arrival in Sydney she said that "she's not a hero, but just 'an ordinary girl who had a dream'"!! Great idea here to grab this excellent screen shot from Channel 3, Chris - neither Phil nor I even thought of doing that!! ;o/ #1268994

A wonderful capture of this amazing feat, Chris! By the look of the crowd around the harbour, watching it at home on TV was the go!
Congratulations Jessica! #8613839
