Alpena Hardware
Uploaded: May 04, 2010
A weak moment..... I have a "thing" for old, rural structures and have tried not to let that show up in my gallery. This hardware store, among several other small buildings, was found as I drove through the mountains of Alpena, (extreme northern) Arkansas last week. Almost every building was made from stone. I assume that the material was local to the area. This small, rural town had a look of its own.

What a superb capture of this old relic of a building, Danny...and I hope that somehow someone can enliven the town of Alpena once again!! :o/It's *such* a shame to see historic places like this just die away for whatever reason...
I really love all that stone, and the light, textures, tones, pov and composition here all are excellent, too!! :o)
Don't be afraid to show us any of these old building that you find, Danny - I think a lot of us, me included, find them *really* interesting!! :o) #8610842
