Your people shots have such great expressions and stories behind them. I just love looking at them. I am trying to figure out if the look is humorous (about to tell a joke) or mischievous? #8619491

G'day *ANNA*!

My heartiest Aussie congratz for the EP and Finalist awards for this very fine sepia study.

While not strictly a candid shot it does have a very strong candid quality about it due to the look of surprise in the man's eyes. Whether set up or not, I like it.
While your choice of lens, focal length, focal distance and point of focus has softened the background well, it is still rather busy. However with your clever use in rotating the camera, (or the crop) and with the intensity of those eyes, any thought of clutter fades into insignifigance.
I do suggest that you burn in any surrounding highlights, especially the sleeve, to remove their distractiion and add more emphsis to the man's face. (Justathort!)
A magic moment, a nice sharp focus and lovely tones and contrast in the processing certainly made this a Winner.
