~ GANO GRAIN ELEVATOR ~

Uploaded: April 16, 2010

Description

Kansas is full of grain elevators.
Every town has one, and they all look pretty much the same. Occasionally, though, you come across one that stands out. This one however, is located in Ardell. Ardell is not a town, or even a community. It's barely even a railroad crossing. Located in Edwards County, just one county to the North of my home, is the home of two grain elevators. They are quite a sight to see. This gano, built in 1915 when the grain industry was really booming. During that time, five elevators suddenly appeared. This elevator is capable of storing 15,000 bushels of grain. Although is fairly good condition...it is no longer used. The second elevator sits across the road, a few hundred feet away...
Stay tuned...I will post that one tomorrow...

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!
