About Paul Rommelfaenger

Photography Gallery by Paul RommelfaengerHello to those who have stumbled upon this site. As a chemist and a paint formulator I tend to use the left side of my brain and looked for a way to balance my tired brain. Photography was the answer! As my wife was finishing her PhD in Nursing Education, I had many hours of time to "play" with my photos on the computer and taught myself how to master digital art. Now I am retired and my wife continues teaching as a PhD in Nursing Education. We love nature and we travel here and there as a team. She spots the photos and I then put my life on the line often in traffic, crawling around in high grasses or weeds, and one time got a little carried away when a full-blown gale was moving in off the Pacific Ocean near Cape Disappointment, Washington. As a father (they never leave) and grandfather, husband, Scoutmaster (now retired, finally), winemaker (I now can buy it cheaper and better), you will see my life perspectives peaking out in my photos ... Photography is an expression of my right brain, or is it my left brain.. anyhow it's how MY brain works and sees life when I take the time to slow down. I enjoy the opportunity and the challenge to capture our world, mostly in landscapes. I do not travel to photograph but, rather, photograph when I travel. I Hope you enjoy these images and would appreciate your feedback - good or bad. Tell me what you think. I began this journey in photography a number of years ago. I thought it would be nice to purchase a point-and-shoot Kodak for my wife for Christmas. A whole 2.3 megapixels. It was hers, but I started to take the photos. Next thing you know I am upgrading to a Kodak 6940 - great zoom, great lens. I then started shooting with an Olympus E-Volt 500. Noe it's a mirorless Mark 2 Olympus. A long way from 2.3 megapixels! This Is Fun. -Paul
