Growing up in a rural scientific community surrounded by national forest, I developed an early love for nature. I've always been interested in experiencing and studying nature. I started photography as a way of capturing the animals I saw on film as documentation of what was out there.
I've recently completed my PhD in Behavioral Ecology (the study of how animals behave in their natural environment). When I began to study animal behavior, I used photography as a way of capturing moments of behavior.
I'm currently developing my photography as an art form beyond species identification. I like to use my behavioral ecology training to capture those special moments in nature, and my artistic side to make them beautiful.
I'd love to hear what you think of my work.
