I am an Award Winning Photographer who Retired in June 2010. Previously, Director of Facilities Engineering & Construction at hospitals. Was in the US Navy for 10 years.
I am a licensed engineer and have an MBA, also. I was for many years a property manager for large high rise buildings prior to moving into healthcare facilities management.
I am happily married and my wife is a Senior Manager for GE Healthcare. We have 2 cats. We are active in local not-for-profit and community. My wife and I have traveled extensively and do so at least 2 to 3 times a year going different places in the world.
I belong to a writers group and am interested in travel writing and photography. I am active online with Nikonians.org.
I started back in the 80s taking photographs with a Nikon FM2 using film and did so for a few years and drifted away from it. In the last few years have gotten back into photography with P&S Nikons, Olympus, and Sony cameras. Early in 2009, I bought the D90 and now photography has become a full time fun passion. I now own Nikon D600, 700, 800 and 7000 as well as Fuji X10, X100 and X-E1 and array of supporting gear.
I have taken a couple of photography courses at the community college and through ed2go and now have completed over 35 online course through BetterPhoto.com and other sources as well having obtained a Pro Certification through New York Institute of Photography and at Better Photo. I am active in camera clubs and the Milwaukee Coalition of Photographic Art.
I hope to develop the skills to do travel writing and photography, blogs, maintain my website and with my wife focus on travel writing and photography for a good many years to come.
Finally, I hope to learn and meet others through this service to help enhance my skills and life experience.
