I sometimes take photos at home and I always take a camera with me when I travel, and as I travel quite a lot (to conferences as I do research on international business at the University of Tartu, Estonia, but also during my vacations), my laptop is full of photos... Until September 2007 I did not use any photo-editing software, but then I started experimenting a bit with some digital darkroom techniques in MS Paint and MS Photo Editor (I don't use them any more), later Gimp (freeware from www.gimp.org) became my favorite, but I also use Paint.NET and LightArtist (also free).

I have 4 cameras: Olympus Camedia C770 (my first digital camera that I actively used until May 2008), Pentax Optio W30 (mainly for under-water shots; I share it with my father Jüri Vissak - his portfolio is at http://www.betterphoto.com/gallery/gallery.asp?memberID=266055 ), Olympus SP 570 UZ (I bought it in the end of May 2008 and it was my favorite until February 2010) and Canon EOS 7D (my newest treasure).

Photography is still a hobby for me, but I'm getting more and more interested in it. I've never taken any courses, but I've read a couple of photography books and now I'm also trying to learn from the photos/comments on this site. So, hopefully, my photos will keep improving.
