About Jane E. Bentz
I am a retired teacher, and I now have more time for my photography, which has been an interest of mine since I was young and watched my uncle develop film in his darkroom. I do a lot of portrait work (mostly on location - very little studio work), but have recently tried to branch out a lot more, doing nature and landscape, flowers, macro, animals, and anything else that catches my eye.
I shoot with a Canon 7D and a variety of lenses - I think I have 7 or 8. I shoot almost exclusively in RAW. I love to play with an image in Photoshop to see what different effects will do to it. I have WAY too much fun messing around with the post-processing, but my right-brained mind makes me do it and I sometimes lose track of time!
I have a tolerant husband, two grown children, and a number of fur-babies, many of whom you will see in my galleries. I am always trying to learn, grow, and improve, so please feel free to comment on my photos and give constructive criticism. I am awed by all of the talent showcased here on BP!
My motto when it comes to photography is actually stolen from Woody Walters, an instructor I had for a class at a photography conference. He always says, "Shoot with passion and shoot from the heart." I couldn't say it any better!
