Bonjour photographers!

My name is Tara Lanning and I am 20 going on 21. ;) I am currently Junior at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. Considering into English, Education, Photography and Graphic Design majors (people thinks I am insane, but it is all good since I have a long life to live and I have passion for each of them). I was born and raised in San Jose, California. My heart truly lies in California from birth and until death.

I began to dig into photography into the deep hole ever since I kept borrowing my dad's crappy company digital camera with 1.0 megapixel until I got my very own, Kodak Easyshare DX7590 that has 5.0 megapixels (which I think it is little too much) with 10x zoom-- which I still pretty unsure if this camera it is a good camera or not. On a second thought, it is not the camera that controls the photographer; the photographer controls the camera. Most importantly, I know what I am truly looking for that brings out the true essential of a picture (I hope that I can, but I can't wait until I get the comments and feedbacks from all of you).

I am also currently taking Intermediate Black and White Photography which I use the 400-TMAX and 125-PLUSX films, develope the films all by myself and develope the pictures in the dark room. I really enjoyed taking that class but it does takes up a lot of my time and patience when I really wanted to develope the entire film but I had no time except to develope only the assigned photos. I will try to scan some of them so I could post up on my gallery. The teacher also gave me MY VERY OWN studio which I could take pictures of the models, my friends and whatever it takes and alsothe two couples gave me and other photographer student a chance to photo shoot at their wedding ceremony on November 18, 2005 which it is an awesome opportunity for me. It is my first time to take a step ahead, to increase my experiences, personal growth and taking this career more seriously than ever-- ehh, wish me luck!

I can't wait to graduate from Gallaudet University with Bachelor's Degree in General Education and Master's Degree in Special Education along with English, Photography and Graphic Design majors and MFT. After all of that, I will return to my homeland and try to establish my own photography studio there. I dont expect it to be a fast-growing kind of business, I just want to keep it mellow and enjoy the meaning of capturing the frozen times.

Eh, enough said.

Tara ;) <3
