~Tacoma Narrows Bridge's~
The original Tacoma Narrows Bridge opened July 1st 1940 only to collapse and fall to the bottom of Puget Sound four months later on November 7th 1940 giving it the nick-name “Galloping Gertie” The current bridge opened October 14th 1950. 5,979 feet in length with a span of 2,800 feet. The 5th longest suspension bridge in the US. Now, after the completion of the second bridge on July 16th 2007, they’ve become the largest twin-suspension bridge in the World!!
