Dia de Muertas
Photo was taken with a very high ISO (6400). But the only light was the fire, the figure was dancing and had an incense burner creating smoke in his right hand. I used a fast lens but knew the photo would be very noisy. I used a noise reduction plug in and with all the smoke I felt it turned out really well. The dancer was part of the Dia de Muertas(Day of the Dead) celebration in Mexico (Nov. 1st) The belief is that on one day a year the spirits of the dead come back to spend time with their loved ones. Shrines are built in honor of the dead with food, drinks and personal items. Dances, celebrations and costumes are all part of the fiestas.
