Leander Under Eastern Sky

Jim Baines and I collaborated on this image about a year ago. Jim had shot the beautiful windmill scene on his way to a wedding shoot in Leander, Texas. But the sky was cloudless and solid blue, and he wasn't happy with it.

On my morning drive, in late Autumn, the dappled sunrise sky over the New Jersey Turnpike had been spectacular. But a sky with no scene beneath it does not hold much visual interest. A "perfect" Union was conceived that day.

After I swapped the skies, Jim added the final touch -— the intentionally oversized vulture. The picture was complete.
