Cascading Waters
A short walk on wooded paths takes you along part of the Pemigewasset River in Franconia Notch. Here is just one of the many gorgeous sights you might see along the way. A few wooden bridges with many tumbling cascades which eventually leads you to the basin. The basin is like a huge pothole formed by ice and worn perfectly smooth by swirling river rocks. I did swim in it once about 30 years ago and as I remember it was ice cold. Now it is barricaded by a fence...otherwise I would have gone in for sure!!!
