A Sign of Spring: Mejiro and Sakura (桜) Okinawa is the first location in all of Japan for the Cherry Blossoms (桜) to open. This welcome sign of Spring coming in the weeks ahead turned out to be one of my favorite shots of the day. The bird, a Japanese White Eye is kn own as a Mejiro in Japan.
