Paradise in the midnight sun
Picture was taken near the northen Icelandic town Akureyri, at midnight, in July. One of the most special characteristics of the northern regions are the bright summer nights. This period of almost round-the-clock daylight lasts from the beginning of June until mid July; a time during which it never gets really dark in Iceland. The midnight sun is a true feast for the eyes; a sight never to be forgotten A magnificent interaction of light and colour leaves you breathless. The north coast of Iceland is probably the best place in the world to see this interplay of light and sky.
