Across The Water
Planting native plants along lake and stream banks helps to buffer the pollutants that might otherwise enter the waterway via stormwater--think motor oils from leaky car engines, goose/dog fecal matter, fertilizers, etc.--. Pictured here are flowering perennials like Joe-Pye weed and New York Ironweed. These plants provide nectar for pollinating insects and seeds for birds and other wildlife.
