Columbus Circle - Visiting Elephants
-----
October, 2011. New York City
-----
This life-sized bronze elephant is part of an exhibit by sculptor Peter Woytuk. Two elephants and a pair of sheep have taken up residence on Broadway.
----
The animals are bronze sculptures that were to be on display through April 2012 (Apparently they are still there according to a March 2014 blog?). They're part of a public art exhibit hosted by the Broadway Mall Association.
The exhibit stretches across more than five miles, through the Upper West Side, Morningside Heights, West Harlem and Washington Heights. From Columbus Circle to 168th Street at Mitchell Square Park, marching elephants, big blue Kiwis (birds), bulls, sheep and ostriches brazenly bask.

Majorly changed (with new tools) from a post I made shortly after the photo was taken. My original images from that shoot disappeared mysteriously.
