MVP Would-Be
Thanksgiving Day Rivalry
----
During 4 scoreless periods in astonishingly freezing, windy conditions, Northeast HS definitely had the advantage, largely because of #27 who dominated as both Running Back and Defensive End and was active in almost every play.
----
But the high school and college rules (at least in PA) have a peculiar tie-breaking rule: There is a coin toss, and the winner chooses whether they will be on offense or defense to begin the "5th period."
----
Central, in red, won the toss and chose to be on defense. Then the action began on the defense's 10-yd line. Offense has one set of downs in which to score. Northeast only managed a field goal. Now it was Central's turn, and they ran the ball over the goal for a TD. Game over!
-------
The Central #20, equally active in the game as was Northeast #27, scored the TD and was named MVP.
