"What'll Ya Have"
"What'll Ya Have" is the required greeting to all customers of The Varsity in downtown Atlanta. It's the world's largest drive-in and where the term "carhop" originated. It accommodates 600 vehicles and seats 800 inside.
Since 1928, The Varsity has hosted famous people from the entertainment industry, the sports industry, the Governor's mansion, and the White House (serving its famous hot dogs and hamburgers to Presidents Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama), as well as visitors from all over the world. The catchphrase "What'll Ya Have" has become part of Atlanta's folklore. Originally used by frazzled cashiers to keep the lines moving, the blunt greeting is now accepted as the restaurant's unofficial slogan. The Varsity is so-named because of its proximity to Georgia Tech and popularity football fans when the Yellow Jackets play at home.
