Remembering Boston
----
On Sunday, over 40,000 runners competed in Philadelphia's Annual "Broad Street Run" for charity.
----
This was the first wave of runners, just beyond the starting gate. As he does every year, the Mayor, Michael Nutter, started every race with his "blast" can of air (a story there), and "high-fived" the runners who passed close enough to touch his hand. Some got hugs from him.
----
What was different this year was the tribute to Boston. "Sweet Caroline" blared from the loud speakers until all had left the starting line, and Mayor Nutter DANCED in the street for the entire 2-hr starting period.
----
Oh...the air can story: For a while I was standing on the stage beside the Mayor. The can was located near my foot. YES, I knocked the can off the stage and someone had to crawl beneath the draped platform to retrieve it!
