After the Show
--
This is a reworked resubmit from last September. The yellow low-light tones were cooled down somewhat and the light flares were subject to the Topaz Star plugin. The changes are subtle.

Last night I watched a documentary on the life and art fascination of Dr. Albert Barnes, whose amazing collection, formerly housed in an old mansion in the Philadelphia suburb of Merion, was (in May, 2012) relocated to a superb new museum in Center City. If you are in Philadelphia do NOT miss it!
----
I was surprised to learn that Barnes had grown up in the Kensington area, a blighted area that is now beginning its renaissance. It was a wild and dangerous place to grow up even in 1872.

This photo was shot the night of a Kensington neighborhood vigil following a warehouse conflagration in which two firefighters were lost. The scene in the photo was outside an art gallery, a block away, devoted to firefighters’ portraits.
