Pallet Pavilion
This is our city's answer to the lack of music venues because of the earthquakes destroying many of them. The Pallet Pavilion is made up of 3000 recycled pallets and took 3000 hours of volunteer work to create. It has seating for 200 people and will host many community events, such as the Teddy Bears' picnic to be held on New Years Eve. This image is looking at it from the outside. I have to say this is one of the coolest things I have seen. Inside is fantastic. There is a stage, seating and tables and at night it is lit up and looks beautiful. The idea was brought to life by Gap Filler, an organisation that makes use of the empty spaces in our city. This is a temporary venue and will stay here until April next year, although I think it should stay permanently.
