Carousel Details from the historic "Jane's Carousel" in Brooklyn. Opened to the public just a year ago (after a years-long meticulous restoration by Jane Walentas, who gifted the carousel to the people of New York), the beautiful 1922 carousel is installed 30 feet from the East River, at the Brooklyn Bridge crossing. It narrowly escaped destruction last week by Hurricane Sandy, and will reopen again in a few months' time. Uploaded on 11/4/2012 5:21:12 AM
