The Rhythm of the Drum Drums play an important part in many Pow Wows, tribal ceremonies, celebrations and spiritual festivals. Through many songs and dances to the beats of the drum, the Native people try and find a close spiritual relationship with the creator. A dancer's regalia (outfit) is created by the dancer or a respected family member or friend. Pieces are often family heirlooms. The feathers are sacred and highly valued and cared for. This aboriginal man performed a dance and then chanted and beat the drum to accompany other performers at the Pow Wow. Uploaded on 7/7/2012 10:26:29 PM
