Historic Rhyolite, NV
The John T Overbury building, a 3 story structure, opened in June 1907. The cost of the building is said to have been $50,000. It was built of rock & concrete, had modern plumbing, fire plugs and fire hoses on every floor, electric wiring and a 5,000 gallon water tank on the roof. The bldg. was located on Golden St. The 1st Nat. Bank of Rhyolite was housed in the Overbury Building prior to locating in the John S Cook & Co. building. The bldg. also housed a jewelrlry store and various offices.
