Crooked River Gorge
At Peter Skene Ogden Scenic Wayside in Jefferson County, Oregon, three arch bridges cross the Crooked River Gorge. The arch bridge seen here was designed by Ralph Modjeski and constructed by the Spokane, Portland & Seattle Railway in 1911. The bridge was started in November 1910 and the first work train crossed on September 17, 1911.There are two more arch bridges located at this park. Highway 97 Rex T. Barber Veterans Memorial Bridge which replaced the older 1926 Conde McCullough bridge now used by pedestrians.
