A close-up of one of many waterfalls of Milford Sound, NZ, an incredible and overpowering place. Milford Sound is one of the wettest places on the planet. In torrential rain, the sheer rock faces transform into hundreds of waterfalls. We cruised Milford on a clear day after rain.
Some falls tumble as much as 520 ft before exploding into the sea. You can see luxuriant rain forest clinging to the sheer precipices. We cruised so close to some waterfalls that water soaked the foredeck. A spectacular and magical place.
