How to shoot sports and wildlife with digital My question is what is a good digital camera for sporting events. I have a sony dsc-s70 but I would like more zoom and also would like a little more speed. I have a son that plays football in highschool this is my main subject.Also I would like some day to use camera for wildlife shots. I have been looking at the Sony dsc-F717 with 10x zoom would this be a good camera for what I am trying to do. Also is there any books out ther for self help on what I am trying to do.

Actually, the DSC-F717 has a 5x optical zoom. They get 10x by multiplying by 2x digital (which Sony does very well) Where will you be shooting from? The bench, or up in the stands? How big do you plan to print the pictures? The new Nikon 5700 has the same resolution and a true 8x optical zoom for about the same price. Plus a very good "burst" mode. Both are very highly regarded.
