What Happened to...

What happened to the button for adding the type of camera used when uploading an image for the contest? It seems to have disappeared once again...Also On the menu to the left in our member area it now says under "Galley Images", "Manage My Photos", instead of "Edit My Photos"? I remember they did away with the camera used information once before and personally, I like seeing what camera was used... Just my 2 cents worth...

The camera option was gone when I posted yesterday, but I thought it could be just a glitch. Still gone today, though, so figure it's part of the recent changes.

I was asked to provide the camera model when I uploaded two pictures yesterday. I use Mozilla, I don't know about Internet Explorer.

That is interesting Irene. I also use Mozilla Firefox and the box for choosing what camera was used has been missing for the last 3 images I posted for the contest...

I use Chrome, and the option wasn't there for this morning's post.

I found if you use the "Upload New Images" button under Gallery Images on the left instead of the Image Uploader under the "Enter our monthly contest ...you can enter what camera you used. It take a few more steps because after you upload you then have to go back and click to enter it into the contest...

I hadn't noticed that the popular camera selection option had been taken away again. It's nice to know there's another way to get it back, but I prefer using the basic uploader rather than the java-based one that Jill describes above. I'm not sure why it would be available one way but not the other...

I have always uploaded my photos first to the gallery and then decided what to do with them. I didn't even know there was a different way to do it.

But I upload many photos not intended for the contest so for me my system works well.

Martha, how do you get to the basic up-loader? I hadn't posted any new photos for a long time. Then this week when I wanted to post pictures to a club I had to install Java in order to do it. I don't want Java on my computer but thought I had to have it in order to get my pictures onto Better Photo.

I found the image up-loader. Can you only up-load one picture at a time? Does the picture go into the contest or can you use this method to up-load pictures not intended for the contest?

  Irene,
it's only one at a time. You can upload without selecting a category for images not intended for immediate (or eventual) entry the contest. What I do is upload without a category, review, update description, and then submit to the contest.
