Interesting. There are so many buildings in NYC with floor-to-ceiling glass now. I'm amazed how many residents can be seen inside their homes, from the outside, public areas, clearly and easily---from a seated individual reading in a chair at their window, to say, a bather emerging naked from their tub on full display... all for instance, while you simply walk along the beautiful High Line Park. Yet I'm guessing every one of those homes has drapes or blinds the owner could choose to close...

There is a discussion on LinkedIn about a bill being introduced in either New Hampshire or Connecticut I think, about making it illegal to take a picture of someone without their permission. Regardless of being in a public setting. And I wonder if this will make it into the argument about the bill specifically, or maybe what will come out of it independently, if anything.

It doesn't sound like a case of Editorial work. If he is selling the photos (a book), should model's releases and compensation be expected?

It wasn't editorial, just for art. Regarding a book, it may not require releases if the book is a collection of art pieces. And I stress may not, because I've read before that it doesn't require it. In this instance, none of people in the photos had their faces visible. But my point was if this make it into the discussion of the bill being consider that want's to make it illegal to take photos of people without permission. Not talking about the use of the photos, the act of taking the picture. Being at a state fair, street festival, just out on the street, etc... it's illegal to walk around with a camera, shooting the sites and activities.
