Downloading photos

I bought this new computer based on my son's recommendation. Then I try to download a photo and am told "that's a no, no. We're copyright protected" (As if he has a room full of lawyers on his payroll) How can a surfer sneak around thes obstacles?

Hi John, Why don't you try asking the photographer for permission to do this.

Someone's photos are copyright protected for the same reason many of us do this in the Member Galleries. There are people who will profit from someone else's work, because they're not good enough to do their own. If I see one of my images used in an ad or as one in a collection of file photos, that company will see a roomful of lawyers.

Webshots will let you download photo's and there are lots to choose from. I'm sure there are other sites as well that has the copyright permissions let you download for non-commercial purposes.
