Selling Parade Pictures ... Model Releases I took pictures of the local St. Patrick's Day Parade and I'm wondering if I could sale these images as event images. I was not asked or given permission to shoot these images of the very public and free parade through downtown streets, but I would like to provide these images of the parade for sale via my Web site. Is this legal? Do I need permission? What about model releases? 3/19/2005 4:03:47 PM |

Alonzo: There is a discussion about this topic at: http://www.betterphoto.com/forms/QnAdetail.asp?threadID=14921 Sure, you can sell the images without Model Releases if they will NOT be used for commercial purposes - such as advertising. Problem is, how do you make sure that buyers do not use the images for advertising? Parade photos are not likely to be used for such purposes, but who knows? 3/20/2005 7:37:59 AM |
