Victims of a Drunk Driver

Victims of a Drunk Driver
This is my Sister's Husbands Memorial last Thur. Sat, Feb 7th, He left for work at 6:00 am - he had just called my sister on her cell phone to tell her to kiss the boys for him and that he loved her. Soon after he hung up the phone a drunk driver swurved into oncoming traffic. He had no time to react and had a head on collision. The drunk driver walked away from the accident, but our Larry did not. He left behind 9 children, youngest ages 3 and 6. We loved him and he will be so missed.

  Leslie,
Sorry for your loss. I am a FORMER drunk driver. As a kid I thought everyone, including myself was immortal and that we all drank and then drove away to wherever. Thank God I woke up before I hurt someone.

Great image, the sorrow of the group is evident. I'm not sure I would have had the strength to lift my camera at that moment, if I was standing in your shoes.

Great job! Brave, poignant, sad image.

My Best Regards to you and all that family,
Tony Frederick

This is a moving image, Leslie. Hopefully it will have an impact on those who continue to drink and drive in this world. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Thank you everyone for your responses. This is a very hard time for our family. We have a very large family and we are all working hard to get my sister through this time of heartache. I know that at some point or another in most of our lives, we all could have been that driver.

There are over 17,000 people killed a year by drunk drivers... I never thought that our family would be apart of that statistic, but here we are and all we can do now is try to open some eyes. It is almost an unbearable pain knowing that he died because of such negligence. I had to get this photo out for others to see. It didn't have to happen.

Thanks for all your support!

I wept when I saw the photo and read your tragic story. I have shared the photo with my own family...reminding them just how fragile life is.

The message of your photo will surely cause others to think about their use of alcohol. Thank you for having the courage to remind us.
