Focal point was achieved by a contrast in tonal value. The leaf leads you to the center of interest. I did not put the flower exactly on the sweet spot. If I had, the tip of the leaf would have been missing, making it impossible to keep the eye in the photo.

Hi Gary I like this image. The focus and lighting are perfect and the way the leaf and stamens all drive the eye to the same point is very nice.
