Hi Denny, thanks for the nice comment! I was immediately impressed with the size and shape of this cloud formation which was visable from Bay Ridge, Bklyn which is several miles south of where this picture was taken. I began shooting it from different corners on my way up to Park Slope and found that I liked this image the best. I found it a little unsettling as its shape is a little too much like a huge mushroom! (brrr...) Scardy cat Norm (smile)

Norm if you were down here in the summer storm clouds like that occur almost daily. Watch your histograms keep the highlights from burning out. The dark areas can be lighted later in editing. Burnt out areas cant be fixed. Let me know when your coming back to Fl, I think its time we did a shoot together. Norm take the Belt Parkway East to Cross Bay Blvd. go south over the North Channel bridge continue on about 3 miles or so to the parking lot at the north end of the South Channel Bridge go check out the view from the pedestrian path on the bridge. Then start exploring the side streets to the north of the bridge especially on the west side of the island. It was my favorite place to shoot when I was growing up in Canarsie. Hmmm my computer spell check has underlined Canarsie DOH!

Hey again Robert. I appreciate your tip on the histogram. I may be able to mix and match images, but I still have a lot to learn about taking really good pictures. (smile) I have a new dog and need a new truck so I have to work out some logistics regarding Florida this March but as soon as I do, I'll let you know. I know a little of the area that you mentioned. I used to do group bike rides out that way. Will have to revisit and check it out! Norm
