Normally I would say "Ewww, gross" - but this is a REALLY incredible shot! The detail in it's wings is amazing! Exceptional job capturing this Dawn! It's cute as a bug! (couldn't resist!)LOL!

An awesome capture and I can admire the work it takes after working on getting one myself! The big ones seem to never land unless they are dying or something....stood there for an hour and came away with a blah image. Got one good one of a little blue guy, but I just love how you got this one with the wings open! Bravo!!!!!!

How are people getting beautiful shots like this? We have these guys in ABUNDANCE here. All colors. All sizes. ALL SPEEDS! Ha!

They motor around our yard like they own the place, they are EVERYWHERE when we go camping or to lakes YET I CANNOT get a good shot of one. NOT EVEN ONE.

They move too fast and when they HAVE landed and ARE "resting" (for 2 seconds) they have those big eyes that see me sneaking up on them and then they buzz off. Of course they always wait until I am three seconds from clicking the shutter.

Oh...I am sorry. Was I ranting?

laura, we as to the ranting you can do it anytime!! I love to hear others stories, your dragonflies are my hummingbirds. I cannot get close to the shots others have in BP!!! Ill tell you what, I have never had a chance to get close until I caught them on the river with the lilypads. try looking there, they seem to hold still awhile! thank you so much for taking the time to give such nice praises.
