Good Morning Mike..Nancy..Peter!!! Thanks a bunch!!! I appreciate your kindness!!! We haven't done this after harvest planting in quite sometime.... I have always thought that the smoke from the fire is beautiful.... many different colors and very dramatic!! Makes one feel almost helpless as you are up close to it. The heat is Very intense!!! I can't imagine what firefighters feel when they have to fight a fire that is out of control...I salute every one of them!!! Around here they are all volunteers.... I just meant why didn't he pre-determine the area that you wanted to burn and disk around it then so it wouldn't spread rather than waiting until the fire was burning to create the fire break.

Excellent capture of this fire and smoke scene, Jeana!!! Our grass seed harvest is in full swing now and it won`t be long before they burn the fields to sterilize the ground for next years harvest. There are fewer fields burned each year and it won`t be long before it`s a thing of the past but they are fun to watch now....Denny

I'm sure we will see this again. It is a fantastic and very powerful image. Love the contrast betwen the smoke and the wheat stubble, the vivid colors and the clarity. This technique is also used in many parts of Spain.
