Susan, I'll trade ya a finalist for your POTD! :D I'd love to get a POTD some day. I LOVE this and predict it will be your next (first?!) finalist! I think the effects really convey the "essence" of a flower--it's softness, delicacy and color (even if it's a different color than the original!)
