One of the Red Breasted Nuthatches sitting on my fingertips, it took it's sweet time selecting a seed from my hand, and almost seemed to enjoy letting me get some shots of it.

Dot this is awesome. I just love how they eat out of your hand. I am working on my birds. One landed on my shoulder today.

OMG, I didn't know you could get a nuthatch to eat out of your hand--I'll have to try that. But I could never take such a sharp photo of one at the same time!! Amazing capture, Dot!

  Thanks Cheryle, Joyce, and Colleen,

Cheryle, I'm happy to hear one landed on your shoulder, I'm sure they'll be eating from your hand in no time at all.

Colleen, if you have Nuthatches around then give it a try, they are quite friendly.

Fantastic capture Dot! Yesterday a Chestnut-backed Chickadee took a peanut from my hand & I managed to get a capture of the happy event. Our Nuthatches appear to be way more interested in the bark of the trees than what might be in my hand. After seeing this wonderful capture I shall put more time to inviting them to my hand also. Love it!!
