Thank you, Roberta. I selected the bike using the magic wand tool in CS3, then used Select > inverse. This selected only the background. Then, using Image > adjustments > hue/saturation, I reduced the background to black and white. This technique as well as digitally hand coloring black and white photos are explained in my Photoshop: Creative Techniques course here at BP.

Thanks, Nancy. I saw the wrought iron bike at an antique/junk store as I was driving and stopped to buy it for a prop. In the spring I want to shoot it with a white picket fence.Jim
