This is incredibly beautiful, Dolores! Beyond that, I love the way it looks like the fishermen are walking on water. Too cool. Could you explain what a flood filter does? That's a new one for me. :)

Pardon me if I'm wrong, but did you mean an FLD filter, and "flood filter" was a pun. This flourescent light to daylight filter can give some interesting effects. It doesn't matter what filter was used, you have a very nice photograph.

Thanks again Carol and Randy! I did not know a flood filter existed either until 4 months ago...when I saw a winning shot redone with it and reentered as another!! The image was actually quite nice without it but the filter added a more dramatic element. The intention was to make them appear they were walking on water!

You're welcome, Kathleen...yes, filters have come a long way, haven't they? I've been having fun with them lately...applied thoughtfully and with a purpose, they can bring your image to a whole new level. I hate that they are overused though by some photographers. It is apparent with some images, that the filters don't really add anything but they're used anyway!

Greetings, sister friend!! Thank you so much! The end of the month is fast approaching...I get so excited around judging time. You know...which pics will be chosen...and all that stuff. Did I tell you my camera is at the Canon factory for repair? I'm miserable... I'm in my archives editing stuff! My camera shoots in RAW mode (wonderful!)so I save all my raw files as digital "negatives"...I don't always edit after a shoot...I procrastinate to the end.
