Fabulous photo, Karen! We know what your subject is, you moved in close, made shade with the umbrella to cut out shadows and evenly light his face, and in the process removed any distractions in the background. Umbrellas make a great prop for portraits for these reasons and also because they bring all of our attention to the most important part of a person, their eyes. Good job!
