I admire the tones and textures you have achieved here, Josh. B&W is one of my next big challenges and I hope to come close to this type of subtlety.

Thanks, Steve! Part of what helped me is that this is with an infrared camera and then converted to black and white. I often find that it gives more interesting textures than just visible light images :)

Thank you for that info, Josh. I could have spent a long time persuing this feel! :) I'm just getting a Nikon Coolscan V. Perhaps I will haul out my good old Pentax.
