This is Miles and another of my sailing buddies on Lake Amistad. He lives on his sailboat (off and on) on Lake Amistad at Diablo East is an avid enviornmentalist as well. Captured with 5D at 67mm with natural light and sky as BG at F/5.6 and 1/125. Minor processing in Aperture only.

This was another capture of my friend Miles and I really did not know which I liked the best. First looking down and this looking up both taken from below to utilize the natural gray sky as a compilmentry BG. Let me know which you prefer and why?

Great capture of this sailing buddy. I prefer the top one, a tighter crop, he looks out of the framer closer. But how am I to say, it's more pleasing to the eye. Great job Emile...

Fantastic work here Emile! I prefer your second image, I like a sailor who keeps his eye on the sky!

Excellent light color and details in both shots. I think the second one makes him look younger. :)

Thank you for visiting and commenting. Dominick, Linda, Manuel C, Glen, Amalia, Eileen, John, David, Manuel B, Husain, Shelly, Cyn, and Joyce. I like them both for different reasons but though the perspective on the second was more unique. I also liked that in both his eyes were open. I had a tighter full frame on the top vertical and a more square presentation on the bottom for effect. Thanks again for commenting.

Both shots are fabulous, but I actually prefer the 2nd shot...it has more animation, as though he is on the ship on the high seas and sees land approaching or a large whale is jumping out of the water or giving commands to his crew! (There goes my imagination again! lol:)
