Hi Per, I hope that you are not offended but I have a few suggestions for you. Next time that you shoot a portrait in a mixed light situation where the subject is in the shadows,use some fill flash or ask the model to move. Fill flash is always recommended for people in a situation like this...My other suggestion would be to open up the lens. Portraits should be shot at f/5.6 or lower to blur the background and draw attention to the subject.
