Oh, look!

  Oh, look!
Oh, look!
Just before we reached the long spread of the Pacific Ocean enroute to China, I looked out the window and saw Alaska! It was awesome!!

Captured with the Image Stabilizer on Canon Zoom Wide Angle-Telephoto EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Autofocus Lens with a thin German B+W polarizing filter and Fuji Provia slide film.

This is beautiful! The framing of the window adds such a nice dimension with the ice crystals!

Thank you for your kind comments, Sheryl. The original image was even more beautiful. I had difficulty handholding the camera steady enough to capture the sharpness of the ice crystals as well as beautiful Alaska. Image stabilizers definitely help, but nothing helps more than a sturdy tripod, and I'm looking for the latter.

This is one of my favorite images, as well. I love the Rockies and have longed to see Alaska for 45 years, and I also like to frame images whenever possible. The airplane made that possible.

Thanks, again, for visiting my gallery. Check back in a few weeks, as more will be up.

  Thanks, Anne.

Although I love to frame whenever I am able, there was no choice here. The window was in my face!

I do love the ice crystals on the window and wish there was a way of capturing them in sharp focus. The situation on the plane was not conducive to careful focusing, however.

Thanks for your kind words.

WOW Bunny what a beautiful image, I love the clarity and the way the iced up window frames it, well captured!

Thanks, Lynne. And thank you for taking the time to comment. I loved the ice on the airplane window, also. It made a lovely frame for the cold image beyond.

Please, if you have time, check out the rest of my gallery. At this time, I'm just over 1/3 into my China trip from 2005. The gallery will give you a good idea of China through our eyes. It was a very interesting trip.

Have a happy Christmas and fulfilling new year.

Bunny you have a wonderful gallery with eclectic tastes for subjects. I am looking at the candid people shots because I am endeavoring to remedy this shortcoming in my collection of images.

I really love the subject...your wonderful capture from the airplane..of the Alaska snow covered hills with the foreground morphing into the indistinct ice meeting up with the sky. Great shot, Bunny.

A question..are you new to the site? I haven't come across either you or your images before today.

  Thanks, Melissa for your comments.

I'm not that new. I came to BP.com in 2005, but bought the web site in 2006 before taking a class on the 20D from Jim White.
Previously, most of my images were flowers. However, because most people asked for my travel images, I took those down and slowly put up my China images. So, all those images are at my member center confusing things, and 1/3 the China images are up.

Thanks for you comments on the airplane view and capture of Alaska's mountains. It may be the only time I'm able to see them, although I wanted to climb or hike Alaska during my youth.

I'm going to have surgery on Tuesday for a total knee replacement and will not be online or on the computer for over a month, if not longer. And, in May, we are going on a cruise to the Greek Isles and Turkey. So, I'm not certain when I'll get the rest of the China images up, and there are some beautiful images yet to come.

Check back next summer.

Thank you very much for your comments. They are very important to me.
