Very beautiful, Mary. How did you achieve the effect? It almost has the look of a flash reflection on a painting. Lovely colors.

Hello, Dale, Thank you for the lovely critique. I first added a stained-glass effect in Digital Suites 10, and played with the settings a bit. Then I opened the changed image in Photoshop and added the Paint Daubs Filter. Then I played with the settings again. Nothing fancy, just filters and adjustments.

Where do we draw the line between photograph and digital image? I beleive this is not a photograph, more of a digital image, for once you alter it more than you would a traditional photograph in a darkroom, it becomes a very different product.

Hello Matt,Yes, I agree with you. This is how I look at digital photographic art, It begins with a photograph then transformed into a piece of art thru digital imaging. I call it art. Of course it all starts out with traditional photography knowledge and skill. Mary

The bottom line is, there is no question we are dealing with a very talented artist. I have to admit that the photography is the minor player here, but never the less, there is no doubt of the artistic vision.Dale

"AMEN" Mary & Dale! This is an artpiece which was beautifully created from a photograph. Changing our OWN pics from the original 'photograph' to an artpiece is a 'freeing & creative release' of thoughts and emotions. I enjoy 'creating an image' more than just 'snapping an image'. Not to say the pure reality of a photo isn't satisfying and beautiful...re-creating just takes it a step further. FABULOUS CREATION, Mary!

It becomes "art" when someone cannot tell it's a photograph. To the non photographic person this is not a photo. It is very beautiful as an art piece and I hope you continue to enjoy the medium. The world needs more things of beauty.
